The best Chinese food in this entire area of south Florida. We eat here all the time & never had a bad meal. Great Peking Duck.

We have just returned from a meal at Peking Duck Restaurant on Atlantic Blvd in Pompano beach. The food was fine UNTIL MY DAUGHTER FOUND A BUG COOKED IN THE LEMON CHICKEN!! The waiter saw it and took it to the chef who saw it as well. When I mentioned it to the owner she did not even care! She offered to make us another order but we told her we had lost our appetite and would never return to which she replied you can't get blood from a stone. We didn't awant blood, we wanted an acknowledgement or an apology. Needless to say we will never go back again

My family and I were in the mood for good Chinese today, sadly we did not get that here. Let me explain...I'm from the northeast and am used to pretty good Chinese food. I wasn't expecting too much, but the food and service were some of the worst my family and I have ever experienced. As we drove in I could smell the old oil in the air outside. I would have left but we were meeting family so I had to stay. The inside was not very nice with wood paneling with the thermostat set to 78 degrees. We sat down and waited at least 20 minutes for our waitress to come over so we could ask for water. Before we ordered we told our waitress that there were a couple of people highly allergic to msg, and to please leave it out of our meals and let us know if you can't. She brought us soups and I asked to double check, and she looked annoyed saying that there's a little msg in all of their soups. Apparently food allergies are not important to this lady. There were many more issues... Our waitress dropped soup on my fiancé's lap and burned him. She did apologize but still seemed angry. She forgot three of our six soups and fried rice, which we ordered and automatically came with our duck platter. She then rolled her eyes at us, checked her pad and said it was our fault. She never refilled our water or tea and again was annoyed when we asked. The chicken in the pan fried noodles was not chicken, more like some sort of spongy and sticky byproduct. The only food that was passable was the duck. Our duck came out 15 minutes before the other dishes arrived, so our party could not eat together. It was all bad, but the worst part was that a couple of us had msg poisoning (dizziness, heart racing and numbness) even after our waitress said there wasn't any in the dishes we were eating. DO NOT COME IF YOU HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY! After leaving we checked online and they have multiple health violations, gross. We had to get up and give our credit cards to the host since our waitress disappeared after we were done. Since we had 6 people we had to give this woman an automatic 18% tip, which could be why she was so terrible. Ps what kind of Chinese restaurant doesn't have hard liquor? A good Mai Tai would have helped this situation a bit. STAY AWAY!!

Overall: Pretty god awful place. Food: Amount of salt was ridiculous and for the prices you could have much tastier fare at a mall food court. Seafood was chewy like it was frozen and partially defrosted before cooking. Pei wei does the same food much better. Atmosphere : wtf....filthy spot straight out the 80's. Tacky interior with a slightly moldy smell. Bathroom was horrendous as was the amount of crap on the floor. Come on guys, don't just wipe stuff off the table and onto the floor. Sweep up because now I have fried rice stuck to my loafers. Service: Waiter and bus guy was friendly at least. Hostess wandered around like she gave zero f*cks as there wasn't much for her to do until her shift ended. So yeah, avoid this spot.

My biggest turn off in this place is the menu is littered with "ASK FOR FOOD WITHOUT MSG" warnings. This really disturbed me because it automatically made unhealthy food feel so much worse and went against everything I've learned about advertising. I found it unsettling, but I was glad they let you know without asking but... it made me question how would I know if it actually WAS MSG free....would I really know the difference in taste? or texture? or am I supposed to go by their word? As far as the food itself- The veggie fried rice was good and not greasy. The General Tso's fried tofu was a weird consistency to say the least. It was very tough on the outside and normal chewy tofu texture on the inside. Very hard to cut and almost gammy. The waitress tried to cheat us out of some white rice, but we weren't letting that happen. The broccoli was good but the MSG sauce was freaking me out. The veggie egg rolls were super oily on the inside and the roll itself was too thick. Overall, it tasted very similar to any mediocre chinese food you can order. Besides the food being average, the place just seemed dirty. To their defense I did not use the bathroom or look around, but the overall restaurant just seemed like they stopped caring.

Food was a typical American Chinese. I ordered from the lunch menu... pork chow mein with fried rice and wonton soup. $8. The staff was friendly.

I used to come here with my family many years ago, moved back into the area and decided to come again. But my experience tonight was horrible. My family and I ordered (among other things) Beef and broccoli to share. Upon going for a second plateful, I noticed something in the food. There was a very very long grey hair in the food. It wasn't even just on the side of the plate or on top, it was IN the food. I had to dig it out. Absolutely disgusting. When I called the waitress over to show her, she didn't apologize or anything. She just looked at me and asked if I wanted a new one. When I said "no thank you, just some additional pancakes for the mushu (sp?) pork. She says: "it will be $0.75 per pancake" Seriously?! After the long grey gross hair I just showed you? (I am a man with short brown hair) I asked to speak with the manager who was very rude. "The waitress told me the color of the hair and no one in the kitchen has that color hair" instead of "lm so sorry". The manager said "I took off the $0.75 for the pancakes and the Beef and broccoli" I then told him you better cut this bill in half at the minimum. He took 50% off the bill after. I think it should have been comped completely Regardless of the $, their attitude was so unprofessional and rude. I used to work in a restaurant, and if this ever happened I would have crawled under the table and died.

Been back to this great old school Chinese Restaurant a few times now. Seems to be more enjoyable each time as I get to try more of my childhood favorites from NY. I love the original Cantonese specialties and the fact that they are nothing like most of today's fast, cheap and Broccoli, bell pepper dishes. Although they have the new stuff, it's wonderful to be able to carry forward the old specialties that made Chinese such a staple in the old days. Although some things may be better at Christine Lees at Gulfstream in Hallandale, the "Peking Duck House" is working its way into my heart, and it's closer to my new home in Ft. Lauderdale!

Great food and great service. My husband and I have been going here over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Fair prices, lots of food! I never have to make dinner the next night or two when we go! Great job Peking Duck House!

Not much to look at from the outside, but lovely inside. Service was amazing and 5 star. Food was delicious, and lunch prices were spot on. Complementary hot tea and crunchies. They brought water to the table without us having to ask, and kept it topped it. Keep an eye out for "The One and Only" Ed! He's a riot!

Hairs in the food? Bugs in the food? Rancid oil? Toilet falling off the floor? WOW! Just isn't happening on all of the visits I make here. I will bump this up a star to 5 stars. Every time I have come here the food & service have been perfection, I do come off hours, at the beginning of early bird special, so not only do I get a great price with extras included, but full attention from the staff. Usually it is just me and a few tables of old timers, & Canadian snowbirds. I love it! It is quiet tranquil Chinese food heaven! Everyone has the right to their opinion, & reading some of the other comments though I have to jump in here & rebut. One comment about Haitians doing the cooking is wrong, the Haitian man is the dishwasher, the kitchen staff all Chinese. As for the food, all I can say is that I have been here multiple times, I have had: Sweet & Sour shrimp PHENOMENAL, Mongolian beef PHENOMENAL , Pan Fried Chinese Dumplings PHENOMENAL, General Tso's Chicken PHENOMENAL, Honey Garlic Chicken PHENOMENAL, Orange Beef PHENOMENAL, Orange Chicken PHENOMENAL, Egg Roll-WonTon Soup-Fried WonTons PHENOMENAL! Service all Chinese waitstaff PHENOMENAL! Cleanliness, ambience, decor, parking, location...PHENOMENAL. Have to give 5 stars. Have not done take out, always eat in the restaurant. See my pics for proof! Again come here with the right expectations and you will be rewarded with delicious AMERICANIZED, let me repeat AMERICANIZED Chinese food.

The BEST Chinese around!!!!~ they use the real duck sauce and hot mustard, not those cheap sauce packets. The wonton soup is super delicious. Also they use large chicken pieces in their general tso's chicken, finger licking!

We have had dinner here 3 times over the last several months. Always a quality experience featuring very good Chinese American food. Staff is very efficient and provide great service. As other reviewers have noted, it is a bit of a throwback kind of place. Its a feel good spot with all of your favorites.

Meh. Egg drop soup was ok. Egg roll over fried. Honey garlic chicken was good. Fried rice, very bad. Service ok. Wife had the Mongolian beef which was tender but just ok. I wouldn't really come back.

As old school as it gets! Reminds me of the Chinese restaurants my parents took me to in Brooklyn in the 60's. Food was passable. Hot and sour soup very good. Spare ribs a bit dry and very sticky. Our waiter was a very efficient, polite and friendly gentleman. Place was packed on a Sunday evening. We'd go back!

Still very good after all these years. As close to New York as I have found in south Florida

Don't order delivery and expect what you ordered. I ordered shrimp with mixed vegetables extra mushrooms in a Kung pao sauce and got white sauce and paid $2 extra for extra mushrooms and couldn't find the extra that I was charged for. They want to charge $2 extra for everything and anything. When I called to speak with the manager that my order was wrong she was argumentative and a complete rude Asian lady, speaking down to me that I hot what I ordered. I told her I would take a photo of the shrimp in white sauce with no extra mushrooms and post it on yelp. After all the discussions I sure as hell wasn't eating anything else from that place! They are not customer friendly, they don't understand English and they are a rip off!!! Beware! And check online for recent health code violations !

  • Dyannah C.

This is old school Chinese food from the fried wontons and duck sauce sitting on the table to the menu options. No surprises here. Even the decor is the classic clichéd look. For South Florida standards, I think this place is in the top 5. They've been here for 30 years so they must be doing something right. The service is notably good as are the portions and prices. If they keep the decor well preserved for another decade or two it will be totally retro.

I grew up in NMB and we had some very good Chinese restaurants there. Sangs on 163 and 15 ave (still there) is probably one of the most noteworthy for it's large Chinese customer base, Peking Duck, and my favorite, General Tso's Chicken. I live now in Ft Lauderdale and have been experimenting with the local Chinese places. I haven't been overwhelmed but I keep on trying like one new restaurant each month. This month I tried Peking Duck House. As the name implied the Peking duck was fabulous, probably the best I've ever had. However everything except for the duck was bad. The chicken tso's was hard and tasted as if it was leftover and then reheated. I paid over $70 for this and i will not do so again. I give everyone one shot and this was your shot Peking Duck house!

I didn't like my meal. the tables were dirty and sticky. The place was cramped and the back of my chair was against another persons table! I was sad because they didn't have my favorite Chinese food: General Sao Chicken and I think that they should. They also didn't have gluten free soy sauce- can you believe that!?!!? They waitress also wasn't nice and they only good think was the yummy chocolate ice cream which is why they got two stars. I'm never going back

  • Ydnal O.

Too much salt in food, staff is not friendly, place is dirty and the men's toilet tipped since it was not totally attached to the floor. Disappointing and definitely not going back!

  • Kevin L.

MSG ALERT! My waiter failed to warn me before order egg rolls and soup: both types of items all contain MSG! Only when I asked upon their arrival did he tell me such was present in both items / all soups. My pork fried rice contained hard chunks of rice which at first I assumed was bones-yuck. Iced Tea was clearly not fresh brewed but one or more days old as it was very bitter. Won't go back!

The best Feature of Peking Duck is that it is reliable. You can always rely upon the fact that you will get a decent Chinese meal, rather good food, at a reasonable price with typical Chinese big portions and outstandingly good service. At Peking Duck there won't be any surprises, the wait staff are all well seasoned uniformly dressed professionals and the kitchen doesn't attempt anything adventurous, out of the ordinary or any Chinese foods that have been rather thoroughly Americanized. In other words, they serve what an American, not what a Chinese person expects in Chinese food. Hence I would fully agree with the other Yelpers who mentioned the food as being "unremarkable," which it is. The food in no way even comes close in comparison to the likes of a Rainbow Palace or a Black Pearl. As for the restaurant itself there is adequate free parking, it is well decorated, even appearing rather lavish with its high (40 foot?) ceiling. They know their customer base well, which is an old, like a real old age customer base almost leading one to think they could be dining in an ornate adjunct to an assisted living home. Having missed lunch and been caught with the consequent early hungries, I happened to walk in during their early, before 6 o'clock special, and with me knocking on the door of being 70 years of age, I was a spring chicken young kid in comparison to the rest. Believe me, you won't see any of these customers texting, Andriod or Iphone playing while waiting to be served and you will most likely witness the frugality of more doggy bag take homes dogless people than anywhere else. So for what it is, a sit down full service Chinese restaurant serving decent, good, but not really good or authentic Chinese food, and though I'm not actually a fan of the place, they are still somewhat better than merely being just OK, so on that bases I'm giving them four stars. Oh, and by the way, I've eaten here far more than just a few times so I do know the place well and of what I write.

I've been looking for really good Chinese food for 2 years. This is the first time I've ordered from Peking Duck. The wonton soup was spot on. Buttery and flavorful. Egg roll was very good. The wrap was nice and crisp as it should be. Shrimp w/ mixed veggies was fresh and full of flavor. The fried dumplings tasted fine but were not crisped up enough for my taste. Fried bananas were a first for me and the texture was just not to my liking. It may be that they were perfectly cooked but I'd never had them before and didn't really enjoy them. Have to say that after trying literally more than a dozen Chinese restaurants, this is the best. I will definitely try this place again. Crossing my fingers that tonight's tasty meal wasn't a fluke.

Please pay attention to the reviews with 2 or less stars. How any body can give a higher review for food quality and taste in particular is beyond me. Overall I would not recommend dinning here. There are enough Chinese restaurants in the area that serve way better quality and tasting food. I have had the crispy duck, Gen chow and Mongolian beef all of which were very very bland. How do you mess up on Mongolian beef. That's a staple Chinese dish. Only reason this restaurant gets a 2 star is for the building exterior and interior decor which is pretty nice and that is the only positive aspect of this restaurant. The service was ok.

Another one of those places I have driven past for years and never bothered to try. I assumed it was dated and that the food wouldn't be so good. I started to think that if the place has been there for over 20 years...maybe I should give it a go. I went with my cousin and we tried a few different dishes. We are both from the NYC area and grew up on REAL Chinese food, NOT the buffets everyone loves today. We both agreed that the food was great and reminded us of the Chinese restaurants of our youth. Yes...the decor is a bit dated but that is part of the charm. It seemed clean and the wait staff was wonderful....our waiter Eddy was super. We spent over $50 with pupu platter, drinks and two entrees. I consider that moderate. I loved eating off of the old willow dinnerware that I remember from years ago as well. Just a great experience. I will go back for sure!

This place has a very high Quality/Value ratio. Great food and great service. We had the peking duck which was both crisp and flavorful. It was so much food we had enough leftovers for dinner that same night. Definitely will be hitting this place as the default Chinese take out place too.

My husband and I are huge fans of Peking Duck House in Chinatown (NY) and eat there as often as possible. We have been looking in vain for a restaurant here in South Florida (where we spend every winter) that is as good as Chinatown's. I happened to drive past this restaurant in Pompano one day and couldn't believe my eyes. Another restaurant named after our favorite food! After eating there three times, I can say with confidence that the food here is every bit as good as in N.Y.'s Peking Duck House and more reasonably priced to boot. We always order a whole duck and lots of vegetables (the broccoli is a favorite but the snow peas are also very good). The servers are knowledgable and friendly. The duck is crispy and perfectly cooked. I eat mine plain. My husband has his wrapped with plum sauce and scallions. It is great either way. You also get excellent soup to begin the meal. It is a schlepp from Aventura, but it is well worth the trip!

General chow (tso?) beef...Delicious!! And the peking duck special wrapped with scallion and plum sauce.. Wow, divine!! Will be returning soon!

I just got back from Chinatown NYC and the food here is pretty damn good! I order spicy beef chow fun ( off the menu ) and it's so close to the original. My guest order crispy chicken with sweet and sour and the sweet and sour sauce is almost identical to NYC it's good and authentic and very nice, the crispy chicken was nice but typical. Overall the meal was above what I was expecting ( since most Chinese food in south Florida is so-so) . The decor is dated big time , the wait was over 20 minuets but its worth the wait. I'll be back !

We have eaten here several times. But never again after tonight's experience. They were busy and we waiting 15 minutes for a table. That can happen anywhere. But after 20 minutes at our table no one even came. I got up and complained to management. The older gentleman came to our table and took our order. He brought us our soup but forgot the egg rolls. That was my 2nd trip to management to complain again. We waited another 20 minutes and still no food. We decided to leave. My 3rd trip to management resulted in no apologies just attitude like it was my fault for not being patient. Then they demanded we pay for the soup. They got their $4.00 but lost us, my parents and extended family, all our friends and anyone else I know as customers. If the parking lot looks full don't waste your time and find somewhere else to eat. Management could care less about customer service or satisfaction. I will never patronize them ever again under any circumstances.

We've lived near this restaurant for more than a decade. It serves Americanized Chinese dishes. We ate here for the first time in a long time for lunch a couple of days ago. I ordered the crispy chicken with sweet and sour sauce, which I have found to be the best version of this dish around. A whole boneless skinless chicken breast battered and deep-fried. The sweet and sour sauce seems house made and has a perfect balance of tart and sweet. I only give the restaurant three stars because I am too stingy with stars to give almost any American style Chinese restaurant more than three stars. But this is the only Chinese restaurant I will go to.

  • Allen N.

I love the honey garlic chicken, it was really good. If you pick up a to go order, don't expect the lady at the register to go out of her way to be friendly. Other than that we all liked the place a lot (twice take out and once eat in). I guess I will add that the crowd is definitely on the older side.

I just ate at Peking Duck House for the second time last night. The first time, I went with a friend from New York who told me it's just like the best Chinese restaurants in New York. I couldn't believe she felt that way- we used to go to outstanding Szechuan and Hunan restaurants in New York and I couldn't have disagreed with her more. I hated everything I ordered that time, from the egg drop soup to the simply awful eggroll, to the adequate main course. But there is such a lack of good restaurant choices in Broward County that I thought I would try it again after my daily workout at the gym. Again, the soup was OK, and the eggroll was still terrible. The main course I ordered, the chicken with cashew nuts, was not good. First of all, the waiter told me it was dark meat chicken, which is fine with me. He should have said it's chicken remnants, because the pieces of chicken were miniscule and barely even qualified as chicken. It was cooked in a generic brown sauce, which is not really the right sauce for the dish- it should be in more of a clear sauce. I also had the pork fried rice- I was glad it wasn't greasy, but it was tasteless and dry, and seemed like something was missing. The restaurant boasts very high ceilings and bright decor, and the clientele is mostly older. I'm older, too, but I don't necessarily frequent places that cater to that demographic. I can't believe that this place is fooling so many people- it's nowhere near the quality of the better Chinese restaurants in New York, Toronto (which has some of the best Chinese food in North America), Houston or Los Angeles. I'm really interested in finding good Chinese food in Broward or Palm Beach County, but after trying this again, I would say the search is still ongoing. I've had much better Chinese food at Asian buffets and Chinese takeout places. Don't be fooled by the good reviews- this is a poor choice and I won't be back.

Last night around 3:45 pm I stopped in at Peking duck, and it will be the last time for me and I will be sure to tell whoever! I ordered honey garlic chicken, house special fried rice, one order egg rolls, and crab Rangoon,so they call it that! Even the fried noodles they give you, along with the white rice was awful, awful! We have always eaten in or mostly take 3 different families, and everything but the chicken ended up in the condo dumpster! $34.00 plus $2.00 tip gone ! So everyone, this is not the Peking Duck you are use too! Never AGAIN! If they had a zero rating it would be -zero. What a shame.

This is one of the better places in South Florida to get Chinese food, but that isn't saying much. I don't know what it is, but as an avid Chinese food fanatic from Detroit, MI...I have been disappointed at just about every Chinese place since I moved here. The food is DECENT at best and WAYYY overpriced. I got food for my girlfriend and myself and somehow spent over $35 on sweet and sour chicken, some Lo Mein, and soup (not delivery). The chicken was chewy and they didn't give me enough soy sauce. I would gladly spend the money if the food was better, the search continues for Detroit-Quality Chinese

EXCEPTIONAL. If I could write a review in all caps w/o annoying everyone I would. If I could give them 10 stars I would. This place is great in every way. Food. Price. Service. Absolutely wonderful. We got a bottle of wine, wonton soup, fried dumplings, and the Peking Duck, all for $65. Very affordable, and for the quality of the food and service, more than well worth it. Eddie was our server, a sweet, personable man who was probably the best waiter I've ever had, I'm not exaggerating. The atmosphere is pleasant, bathrooms are clean, everyone on staff smiles at you and the food is generous, fresh and delicious. This is the kind of old-school Chinese restaurant I miss going to back in Boston. You don't find places like that down here...but you can now. The menu is a massive tome....you need both hands to pick it up. Delicious Chinese specialties on every page, and Eddie let us know they can make things that aren't on the menu, and the next time we come back, he can make recommendations. I've never had Peking Duck before, so I can't really offer comparisons. but it was delicious, the skin was crispy, and the meat succulent and melt-in-your-mouth wonderful. This place is very busy. So, be forewarned there. The parking lot was still crammed when we showed up after prime-time dinner hours at 7:45 pm, and the waitstaff was just starting to recuperate after the rush, doing a ton of clean-up and running around. We did wait a few minutes at our table. But no big deal. Our night here was among one of the most pleasant restaurant experiences we've ever had.

EXCELLENT Chinese food! I had been looking for a good sit-down place for when I didn't feel like ordering takeout from our closer places. This is worth the drive and the price for me. We ordered a little of everything to get a good idea of their quality and were pleasantly surprised. The crab Rangoon was the best I've had besides my own, always a good sign to see actual crab meat when you bite into it. Egg rolls were perfectly seasoned and crispy, even reheated the next day. The egg drop soup was silky and even better with a few wontons added in. I was surprised to see less of the "normal" Chinese restaurant staples (they were there, just not as generic like most menus) and a lot more variety in the meat/veggie combinations and preparations/sauces. My father and I both got what amounted to as a mix of meats and veggies with delicious sauces, stir-fried perfectly. Meats were tender, seafood cooked perfectly, and veggies crispy but cooked to perfection. We also had the special fried rice, which could be a meal in itself. We didn't have dessert, but the selections were a cut above the normal ice cream and fruit that most places offer, some delicious dome-shaped ice cream confections and more exotic fruit-based selections. The atmosphere is great, high ceilings and oriental stained glass motifs, plus a huge Buddha statue all add to the ambiance. We were there mid-week so it wasn't too crowded, nice and relaxing. The wait staff were awesome, very attentive, friendly, and willing to accommodate in every way. We will definitely go back again and again! I've never tried Peking duck, and it's probably the next thing we'll share when we go back since everyone else has left glowing reviews.

The worst Chicken Chow Mien I've ever had twice. I had this dish as takeout while being under the weather when moving to South Florida months ago. I hadn't recalled what specifically I didn't like about it then until ordering it again. I've never had Chicken Chow Mien with what I'm guessing is all non white meet chicken. The chicken in this Chow Mien looks like scrap chicken and is fatty, grisly, chewy and completely unappetizing. I had to pick every scrap of chick out of the dish to have any hope of eating any of it and at that point its no longer the dish ordered, worth the effort, eating or price. This place is always crowded no matter when you go. My hubby likes the shrimp fried rice a lot. He says it's just as good as in NY. Hard to find good Chinese good in South Florida. We have found a few good places and this is one of them. Staff is always very nice. The place needs a makeover. Hopefully soon. I see they are working on the outside not sure about the inside.

Best Chinese food in town! Highly recommended !! You will love their big selection and enjoy every bite. Portions are very big! Bring your appetite. If you want authentic Chinese food this is the place to go to. If you like duck, try the Peking Duck, which is their specialty, but any other dish is just as good. Cant wait to go again !!!

This place is everything you want in good delivery Chinese food. My boyfriend and I decided to order in last night and checked out some reviews online for good Chinese takeout and Peking duck house was one of the top rated so we decided to try it out. I grew up next to a great delivery Chinese restaurant and have never found a place that quite measured up. The order took around 30 min on a Saturday night which was great because we were starving. We ordered the wonton soup, egg rolls, honey garlic chicken and chicken with garlic peppers and onions. Everything was delicious! The breaded honey garlic chicken had plenty of white meat inside which is very important to me when I order this dish. The chicken with garlic, peppers and onions was packed with flavor, mildly spicy, fresh tasting and delicious. The wonton soup was classic tasting and piping hot. Not to salty but still flavorful. The egg rolls were large and crispy on the outside, just how you want your egg roll to be :) The also give plenty of sauces and packaged the order very neatly. I would def recommend trying Peking duck if you want good satisfying Chinese delivery fast. Excellent. I would give this restaurant 5 stars for quality and taste but ill wait until my chance to dine in before I do so.

What a find! Our group found this lil restaurant while driving the streets one Sunday night. The menu is exhaustive. Our waiter was awesome, and recommended some great dishes. Portions were ginormous. No really, we had enough food for dinner AND for lunch the next day for the *entire* group. The food was seriously tasty. The appetizer alone had such variety that I wanted to eat everything. To echo another Yelper's review: "This place has a very high Quality/Value ratio." Definitely some good eats.

It's one of those days, I'm craving for duck for about a week, and finally decided to check out this place. We stepped in, and wait wait, are we transported to china, like 1950's setting? The server knows what he is doing. He even prepared our duck, sliced it and wrapped it using the crepes. It is delicious, the only thing is they should serve the scallions cut into small pieces. Also, the plum sauce has a strong taste. I love the wonton soup. Comes with a couple of dumplings too. We ordered the duck for 2, but it's big enough for 3-4 people, depends how much u guys can eat. The duck comes with a hefty amount of fried rice and 2 bowls of soup. Good deal. Would probably come back again, but only when I crave for duck...

I first visited this restaurant in 1998 and had visited back on several occasions whenever I am in the area. The food is good and fresh and the service is not bad. Decent prices too. The restaurant could use a make-over though.

This is real Chinese food, not the local Americanized junk you get at restaurants like Rainbow Palace, Black Pearl, Christina Wan's or other places that serve nothing resembling true Chinese Food and worse charge a fortune to boot. Growing up in San Francisco, the only thing I miss is the great food like Chow Fun, Walnut Shrimp and Peking Duck and this place is as close as you get without the long flight to NYC or SF! Plus they deliver!

I went with my dad to try it out, he is very picky about his Chinese food and constantly complains that many Chinese restaurants are not authentic and serve fast food, so I was very pleased to hear my dad praise Peking Duck house! We had wonton soup, good, nothing special, and we shared the pork fried rice and chicken Lo Mein, they were prepared perfectly, excellent flavor, just right, and NOT greasy. As soon as we sat down we were served hot tea, and our food came out quickly. Good service, good food , big portions and a great value, the menu is very reasonably priced.

Let me start by saying I like the restaurant. It has the feel of an old school American Chinese restaurant, almost like a Chinese Howard Johnson's. The prices are reasonable, and, while we did take out, it seemed like a nice place to eat. It was packed. All that said, the food is average. My guess is that the food in Pompano Beach must suck in general because the reviews of this place are stellar. We got lo mein, spring rolls, and crispy chicken with vegetables. All three were very serviceable but unremarkable.

Meeting my brother in Pompano for dinner. Hmm...where shall we go? Thanks to Yelp, I came across a few options including the Peking Duck House. Longing for some good NY style Chinese food (where we grew up), we decided to try the Peking Duck House, and boy, am I glad we did. The restaurant has a medium sized parking lot and a big sign so its easy to find. The inside decor is a little dated, but is traditional type of decor for old school Chinese Restaurants and I liked it. A total lack of pretension. Awaiting each table is a pot of delicious tea, and crispy soup noodles with duck sauce and hot mustard. Tasty. We started off with some soup; I had hot and sour, my brother had wanton. The hot and sour soup was really nicely balanced and not overly sour. My brother inhaled the wanton soup that looked like it came with quite a few dumplings. No complaints so far. We then got an order of BBQ spare ribs and steamed dumplings. The spare ribs were swet and flavorful although a few could have been a little meatier and I would have liked them a bit more well done. They were cooked very well but is just a personal preference that I like a little char. The dumplings were massive and were of a good consistency, not mushy, and loaded with meat. We thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers. We then split the Peking duck for two. Wow, was it good. Our waitress, who was totally on top of her game the entire night, came out with the entire duck sliced. She offered to make us the wraps in a pancake with scallions and plum sauce and thereafter went about perfectly arranging the nice sized wraps for us. The duck was really good. The skin was super crisp and the meat was tender and rich. Some pieces were a little fatty but overall it was really good. The pork fried rice served along with the duck was a perfect side item, salty to go with the sweetness of the duck. Stuffed and sipping tea, we were pleasantly surprised when the bill came out and totaled about $60. I forgot to mention we each also had a diet coke and my brother had a glass of wine. Can't beat that value. Both of us really liked Peking Duck and it truly reminded us of the Chinese Restaurants of our youth on Long Island. We are looking forward to a return trip in the near future.

Since I spend 3 months a year in china it hard to rate a restaurant like this. I gave it a 3 star for effort. Pork pan fried Dumplings were very good and so was the steamed fish. Everything else was pretty standard. Hostess was not very inviting and service was typical chinese which means below average. Would I go back?? probably cause I do not think there is anything better around here. From my travels best chinese outside of china is Toronto city. Could even be better.

Owner is sending me nasty messages after I wrote of our experience. Calling me names because I didn't like their food. Won't support an owner like this.

Finding a fabulous Chinese place to eat has been elusive since moving to South Florida a couple of years ago. We stumbled across one last night that is OUT OF THIS WORLD. First of all our server, Eddie, is great with suggestions - helping break the tie if you are undecided and is an all around excellent component to this experience. We will go back not only because the food is so delicious but also because the service was what you hope for but rarely get. I had the Salt & Pepper Shrimp which is not on the menu and you typically won't find it on the menu but it was perfect, crunchy, spicy and steaming hot. The Hot & Sour Soup was angelic with the perfect blend of spice and sour. The steamed dumplings were hand made and are making my mouth water right now just remembering them. I cannot believe there are not more reviews on here, I can't believe no one told us about this place which means it's a well kept secret - well I'm telling EVERYONE I know to go here - again worth the drive no matter what end of the county you live on. E. Atlantic Blvd. has given us two little gems this week to put into our monthly rotation of favorite restaurants!

At last a good Chinese restaurant in South Florida! The Peking Duck is highly recommended, not greasy at all, very flavorful and crispy, very well served by the waiters in individual wraps with plum sauce and scallions. I also recommend the hot and sour soup, very well balanced and fresh. Non pretentious atmosphere (the place could use a bit of renovation)

Worst Chinese food I have had in over 20 years, but then again this is South Florida, not exactly a Chinese food mecca. This could partly be explained by the Haitian cooks. Also very expensive even though it was the "early bird special."

We ordered curry chicken and spicy chicken with vegetables. The chicken seemed microwaved or steamed--it had a strange texture and I couldn't eat mine. My husband has lower standards and ate his. The sauce and vegetables in my dish were excellent so next time I'll just get a veggie dish and no meat. The fried rice was just plain rice mixed with a brown sauce- no eggs or veggies in it at all. Should have just stuck with white rice which comes with each meal. Eggroll unremarkable. Hot and sour soup was above average.

Stopped by for lunch since I was in the neighborhood. I usually go for the Brazilian buffets but when I saw the reviews I had to pull over. Parking lot was full of fancy cars and commercial pick-ups - good sign. I walk in and there were actually Chinese eating at one table - very rare (and no, it wasn't family of the owners). Lunch menu is traditional pick your number and combo. I had the cashew chicken w egg roll and pork fried rice. The egg roll arrived and was piping hot as if it had been just fried - it was tasty. The chicken was delicious, the rice was average. Service was flawless and decor reminded me of those Chinese restaurants I used to go w family when I was a kid. Didn't try the famous duck, but will likely return. Sensibly priced, especially for lunch.

Remember the movie Amadeus when Salieri thinks he has written a masterpiece but Mozart just improvises a tune on the spot and just destroys whatever dreams Salieri had? Mozart is pure genius and Salieri is mediocre. I somehow relate this to the Peking Duck House. I was brought up in Queens, NY. Flushing and Chinatown are a subway ride from me and the Peking duck in those to towns are equivalent to Mozart's work. Trying Peking duck from Pompano Beach, FL was equivalent to Salieri's work. I actually didn't want to eat the duck here because I had a feeling that I'd be disappointed. However, I got hungry after a road trip to Orlando and this was the first restaurant that caught my attention. The duck was good but it just doesn't compare to the ones in NYC. I guess I am spoiled by the genius of NYC ducks.

A great looking restaurant, with good service and food. Their Peking Duck is way above average. Other selections range from Northeren Cuisine to Canton. Sorry they only serve lunch on weekdays. They have great nightly specials too. The quality says it all for me. I have eaten Peking Duck all over the US and many foreign countries. There's is amongst the best I have ever had.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
